Thai Airways to fly biofuel passenger flight on 22 Dec

Thai Airways International will fly its first passenger biofuels flight—the first such in Asia—on 22 December. Flight TG 104 will fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, some 700 km north.

MCOT reported that Piyasavasti Amranand, president of Thai Airways International Public Company, said the airline had concerns over the environmental issues and wanted to be a part of mechanism which can help reduce the greenhouse gas mission by using of biojet fuels.

Project sponsors including PTT Public Company Limited, Aeronautical Radio of Thailand, the Airports of Thailand, Department of Civil Aviation, Rolls-Royce, and Boeing.
