Tesla schedules first Model S deliveries; personalization updates
22 May 2012
Tesla Motors announced that the Tesla Factory will begin customer deliveries of the Model S on 22 June. In addition, the company announced several personalization updates to Model S:
Adjustable regen. Owners will be able to adjust brake regen to suit their driving styles. In a post announcing the changes, George Blankenship, Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Ownership Experience noted that while having less regen likely also means less range, some people still prefer the feel of their car with less regen.
Adjustable steering. Owners can adjust the resistance required to turn the steering wheel, choosing Comfort, Standard, and Sport steering.
Adjustable suspension. Owners can set their preferences for suspension and ride height.
Blankenship also reported that the 85 kWh version of the Model S has completed range & efficiency testing and “exceeded expectations”.
This Tesla, like the Falcon 9, could open a new era.
However long or fleeting, it must feel good to be Elon Musk.

"Exceeded expectations." Tesla Model S combined with a 5kW CIHT charger unit from blacklight - 350 mile range would be about a dime. New energy products are flowing like tap water. Future looks wonderfully abundant!
