Peterbilt extends natural gas engine lineup with Cummins Westport 2013 ISX12 G

Peterbilt Motors Company announced the availability of the new 2013 Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine. Peterbilt has been manufacturing trucks featuring liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems solutions for heavy-duty over-the-road, regional and vocational applications since 1996.
Based on the Cummins ISX12 diesel engine, the ISX12 G is both Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (ARB) certified. The ISX12 G will not require a Diesel Particulate Filter or a Selective Catalytic Reduction system.
Available in August 2013, the new ISX12 G engine features spark ignition technology, a 3-way catalyst, and will be available with a maximum 400 horsepower (298 kW) and max torque ratings of up to 1,450 lb-ft (1,966 N·m).
