26 June 2013
Infiniti today announced full US pricing on the 2014 Infiniti Q50 sports sedan, which goes on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide in early July. The Q50 is offered in 3.7-liter V6 and 3.5-liter Hybrid models. (Earlier post.) The Q50 Hybrid, with a starting price of US$43,950, features one of the fastest accelerating hybrid engines and fuel consumption of 36 mpg highway. The base Q50 starts at $36,700.
Both Q50 3.7-liter and Q50 3.5-liter Hybrid models are available with a choice of rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and in a range of well-equipped models, including versions with special sport appearance and performance features with sport brakes and sport suspension tuning.
Three new world-first production performance technologies make their debuts in the Q50: Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering technology; Active Lane Control; and Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW).
The new steering system allows advanced control of the Q50’s tire angle and steering inputs, transmitting the driver’s intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical system.
The Active Lane Control uses a camera-based lane marker detection system and Direct Active Steering system to further enhance lane-keeping capability and improve vehicle straightability.
he Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) system warns the driver of risks that lie beyond the driver’s field of view. It not only can sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle travelling in front of the preceding one.
The new Q50 also offers Infiniti InTuition, a fully customizable digital environment for linking various driver settings and driving characteristics to their Infiniti Intelligent Key, and Infiniti InTouch next-gen smart connectivity, featuring dual touch-screens and an array of advanced functions, features and custom apps.
