ZOE EV sales in France drop to 483 units in May from 748 in April

The French website moteurnature reports that sales of the Renault ZOE EV dropped to 483 units in May, down from 748 units in April. For the first five months of 2013, ZOE posted a combined 2,830 registrations, making it the best-selling electric vehicle in France, accounting for 73% of the electric passenger car market.

ZOE goes on sale in Germany on Saturday.

With 1,730 registrations at end-May, Renault’s Kangoo Z.E. accounted for 83.6% of the electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) market.

According to figures tracked by the site Automobile-Propre, the Nissan LEAF follows ZOE as a distant second in the French market, with a cumulative 318 units sold through the end of April.

In the Netherlands, the Zoe reported 48 sales in May, which was the first month it was on sale to the public. The LEAF was only 10. Monthly average for the LEAF over the last 2.5 years were about 25.

I hope to be driving my own Zoe in a month or so! Very excited.
