GAZ Group presents CNG LIAZ bus in Serbia

Russia’s GAZ Group presented a low-floor city bus LiAZ-5292 running on compressed natural gas (CNG) to the Serbian passenger transport representatives of the Belgrade administration and certification authorities in Serbia. In July 2013 the CNG LiAZ-5292 bus successfully passed homologation (assessment of technical characteristics compliance with the customer’s requirements) by the state bodies of Serbia.

The LIAZ-5256 is the leader on the Russian large bus market. The low-floor bus is designed to operate on urban routes with high traffic: thanks to the low floor providing convenient loading/unloading of passengers, the time of the bus route is reduced by 15%. The bus is equipped with a Euro-5 MAN gas engine, ZF automatic transmission and axles.

Gas is stored into nine cylinders of 102 liters located on the roof of the bus. The total passenger capacity of LiAZ - 5292 CNG is 105 people, including 22 seats and 2 limited mobility seats.

GAZ Group has successfully cooperated with Serbian carriers since 2005, for today about 250 LiAZ buses operate on routes of Serbia.

GAZ also produces the Electrobus LIAZ-6274 in collaboration with MOBEL Company on the basis of low-floor city bus LIAZ-5292. The electrobus is equipped with an induction motor, drive motor inverter and energy storage; cruising range is up to 200 km (124 miles).
