Virto stand up electric trikes receive European homologation

Developed and manufactured in the Netherlands for the European market, the Virto and Virto S stand-up electric tricycles have received European approval for use on public roads. Approval for North America is pending, the company said.

The Virto trikes are powered by a 48V, 10Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (Ion) pack. The Virto and Virto S have a top speed set at 16 mph (25.7 km/h) and a driving range of up to 56 miles (90 km) each charge.

All the wheels have hydraulic brakes, giving the Virto a short braking distance. The Virto has a front fork with suspension and rear wheels with independent suspension.

The electric tricycles have been launched at several trade shows in the US as well as in Canada. The manufacturing of the Virto and Virto S in North America will take at Virto’s site in Michigan.
