Valeo signs technical cooperation agreement with peiker for mobile connectivity solutions

Valeo has signed a technological cooperation agreement with peiker acustic GmbH & Co. KG, a supplier of on-board telematics and mobile connectivity solutions. The agreement will enable Valeo to broaden its range of automotive geolocation and mobile connectivity solutions.

Valeo said that its global presence and know-how in on-board electronics, allied with peiker’s technological expertise, will allow both partners to offer automakers new telematic systems adapted to the needs of this high-growth market.

The partners’ shared objective is to benefit mutually from their respective capabilities, particularly in R&D, to create innovative products compatible with forthcoming LTE Advanced mobile (4G+) broadband services and beyond.

Valeo is developing an extensive range of systems using ultrasonic sensors, radar, cameras, laser scanners and software to make the car of the future more energy efficient, safer and more intuitive to drive. This agreement allows Valeo in partnership with peiker to further strengthen its position in autonomous and connected vehicle solutions.

peiker is a leading provider of components in the area of communications technology both for cars and for professional radio (PMR). Headquartered in Friedrichsdorf, Germany, peiker has spawned subsidiaries in France, the USA, China, and Mexico.

peiker’s connectivity modules are suitable for use in vehicles and enable a fast and reliable data transmission on the road; under the heading of “connected car”, it thus opens the car door to the internet, navigation, other manufacturer-specific assisted services, and emergency call (eCall).
