Tesla introduces new entry-level Model S 70D; dual-motor AWD standard

Tesla Motors has introduced the new entry-level Model S 70D, an all-wheel drive electric car with a 70 kWh pack, a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds and a 240-mile (386 km) range at 65 mph (105 km/h). Starting price is $75,000.

All-wheel drive is standard on Model S 70D and available as an option on Model S 85. (Earlier post.) In addition to having independently operational front and rear motors, the 70D includes Supercharging to enable free long-distance travel; Autopilot hardware; navigation; blind spot detection; and other features. As with every Model S, the 70D will receive free over-the-air updates.
