VIA Motors launches Chicago voucher program for fleet and businesses for extended range EVs

VIA Motors announced a voucher program for Chicago-area fleet and business owners that will reduce the initial costs of owning a VIA Motors extended range pickup truck, extended range electric passenger van, or extended range electric cargo van.

Incorporating a proprietary power train, the V-DRIVE, into new OEM vehicles, VIA Motors sells units directly to fleets under the VTRUX brand name. VIA VTRUX offers up to 40-mile battery range and.

The extended range electric vehicles from VIA Motors are also already eligible for the $7,500 Federal Tax Incentive. To be eligible for the Drive Clean Chicago voucher program, the commercial vehicles must be used within the Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.

Currently, three vouchers are available when purchasing a new VIA VTRUX model.

  • The VIA Motors Extended Range Electric Pickup is now eligible for a $41,200 voucher.
  • The Extended Range Electric Passenger Van can be purchased with a voucher for $39,460.
  • The VIA Motors Extended Range Electric Cargo Van is also eligible for a voucher of $42,892.

Combining the Drive Clean Chicago voucher with the Federal Tax incentive allows Chicago fleets and business owners to purchase VIA Motors technology with nearly the same price as a standard model vehicle.
