OnStar expanding to Brazil in Chevy Cruze

GM OnStar will launch its Emergency, Security, Navigation, Diagnostics and Connectivity services in Brazil on the Chevrolet Cruze later this year. OnStar, with more than 7 million customers in North America and China and 19 years of experience, is the leading global provider of connected safety and security solutions, value-added mobility services and advanced information technology in the automobile industry.

OnStar services include:

  • Security - Helps recover stolen vehicles.
  • Emergency - Automatic Crash Response and 24/7 access to advisors to get help when it’s needed most.
  • Connectivity - Smartphone app that enables remote functions including vehicle locate, door lock/unlock, honking the horn and flashing the lights.
  • Navigation – Provides routes remotely to the vehicle infotainment system.

OnStar services will offer 24-hour assistance from live advisors and will be available with a press of the OnStar button located on the rearview mirror or through a mobile app.

In Brazil, OnStar services will be customized according to the market’s preferences. Functionalities will be announced soon.
