6 new EVgo fast charging locations in Salt Lake City; 100th station in California

EVgo and multiple site host partners have installed Electric Vehicle (EV) Fast-Charging EVgo Stations at 6 Salt Lake City, Utah area locations. The chargers will give EV drivers the ability to recharge their vehicles in 30 minutes or less.

The 100th EVgo Freedom Station in California also recently opened to the public and is the nation’s largest publicly-available multi-standard (CHAdeMO and DC Fast Combo) fast charging site. Located in the hottest EV area of the country, the Lucky Fremont location at 5000 Mowry Ave. features four 50kW DC Fast Chargers in addition to Level 2 charging. It can support 9 plug-in concurrently.

The new Fremont station is also pre-wired for as many as four more chargers, which can be added in just days as demand requires.

With the amount of demand for fast charging shown in Fremont and the location of Lucky just off Interstate 880, EVgo and Lucky believe this will become the busiest public DC Fast charging location in the nation.

EVgo has now completed 103 charging locations in California and has another 28 in the construction and permitting process. Nationwide, EVgo operates 500 Freedom Stations with more DC Fast Chargers than all other public providers combined.

The new Salt Lake City locations include:

  • Thanksgiving Point - 2935 Thanksgiving Way Lehi, UT, 84043
  • Daybreak - 4628 Daybreak Rim Way, South Jordan, UT 84095
  • Newpark - 1456 Newpark Blvd., Park City, UT 84098
  • Gateway - 18 North Rio Grande Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
  • City Creek Center - 50 S Main St., Salt Lake City, UT 84101
  • Harmons City Creek - 135 E 100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

EVgo says that the key to the success of its network are the premier locations for the state-of-the-art DC fast charging infrastructure. The EVgo Station locations in the Greater Salt Lake City area are part of the nationwide established EVgo electric vehicle charging network that is designed to support both current and future charging technology. The stations serve the charging needs of all EV drivers regardless of the EV they drive.

And the buildout for EV infrastructure keeps marching on.

Dwell can be a bottleneck. Five minutes at a pump versus half an hour at a charger can make a difference.
