The team entry has been granted by Formula E and approved by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Williams Advanced Engineering will be responsible for the operational running of the Jaguar Formula E race team. Craig Wilson, Managing Director of Williams Advanced Engineering, will take on the role of Race Director for the team.

Williams has extensive Formula E experience as the sole supplier of the batteries that power the cars in the Championship. This has included on event technical support to each team—a role that will now transfer to Spark Racing Technologies for season 3 onwards.

I am proud to announce Jaguar’s return to racing with an entry into the innovative FIA Formula E championship. Electric vehicles will absolutely play a role in Jaguar Land Rover’s future product portfolio and Formula E will give us a unique opportunity to further our development of electrification technologies. The Championship will enable us to engineer and test our advanced technologies under extreme performance conditions.
