Hyundai delivers first Tucson fuel cell vehicle in Ontario

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has delivered its first fuel cell vehicle in Ontario, Canada to Joseph Cargnelli, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder at Mississauga-based Hydrogenics Corporation.

In November, 2014, Hyundai Auto Canada announced it would become the first Canadian automotive company to offer fuel cell vehicles to real-world customers. Six Tucson FCEVs have been delivered since February, 2015 in British Columbia. With the expansion to Ontario, the company is further demonstrating the capabilities of FCEV technology and calling for investment in infrastructure development.

Hydrogenics provides hydrogen generation, energy storage and hydrogen power modules to its customers and partners around the world. Hydrogenics has manufacturing sites in Germany, Belgium and Canada and service centers in Russia, China, India, Europe, the US and Canada.

The Canadian Federal and 13 provincial/territory governments have mandates a large group to come up with better ways to reduce GHG and pollution by end of October 2016.

Let's hope that ways will be identified to finance the installation of (coast to coast) quick charge e-stations and H2 facilities.

A 'Green Fund' made of Federal Carbon Taxes together with existing provincial Carbon Fees. By 2017, we shall/may see if our new Liberal Government under Justin Trudeau is serious about reducing GHG ?
