LeEco unveils autonomous LeSEE EV concept; partnering with Faraday Future on autonomous driving research center

China-based LeEco introduced four different products in four distinct categories at a major launch event in Beijing, including the autonomous LeSEE electric vehicle (EV) concept car.

LeEco founder and CEO Yueting Jia and LeSEE co-founder Lei Ding punctuated the event with the grand reveal of the EV concept, featuring fully autonomous capabilities, including machine learning.

LeEco announced that it will be partnering with Faraday Future to fund a world-class autonomous driving research center in Silicon Valley. Additional details will be revealed by LeEco later this month at the Beijing Auto Show on 25 April.

LeEco also announced second-generation smartphones, an all-new 4th-generation SuperTV and the LeEco VR headset.

The event had a global audience of more than 10 million people—including an audience reach of more than 2.3 million through Facebook Live, cementing LeEco’s position as the first company to use the API for a large-scale launch.
