AKASOL introducing modular Li-ion packs for commercial vehicles

At this year’s IAA commercial vehicles in Hannover, AKASOL, a Germany-based provider of high-performance Li-ion battery systems (earlier post), will introduce the AKASystem OEM. The modular and compact lithium-ion battery system is targeted for use in commercial vehicles such as buses, trucks, construction, or other special vehicles.

The base unit of the AKASystem OEM has a storage capacity of 24.4 kWh at a voltage level of 661V (nominal) and rates of 150 kW (peak). Additional modules can be added depending on system requirements.

A water/glycol cooling system developed by AKASOL ensures uniform thermal management.

AKASOL uses battery modules from major battery manufacturers, enabling an attractive price / performance ratio.
