Chery to use NVIDIA-powered ZF ProAI technology for Level 3 autonomous cars

China automaker Chery is adopting the new ZF ProAI system to enable automated driving functions up to level 3. The ZF ProAI controller is powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AI self-driving technology.

ZF and its cooperation partners NVIDIA and Chinese technology company Baidu are working together on autonomous driving. (Earlier post.) For the first time, deep-learning algorithms enabled by the supercomputing power of the ZF ProAI will be available in affordable cars.

The collaboration is of particular relevance because it contributes to the democratization of autonomous driving functions in one of the most important automotive markets of the world. This helps to enable autonomous driving for everyone.

—Dr. Konstantin Sauer, CEO of ZF Friedrichshafen AG

The cooperation benefits from the successful collaboration of the partners in Baidu’s “Project Apollo”, an open platform which supports virtually all main functions of autonomous vehicles in a turnkey solution.
