The two companies have agreed on a distribution partnership in early 2018, initially for yacht manufacturers in Italy. In February, AKASOL will deliver eight of its high-performance AKASYSTEM 15 OEM storage systems to the Italian market.

The first customer for Diesel Center’s 300-kilowatt hybrid drive system is Italian firm Sanlorenzo, who will incorporate the system into its 32-meter superyacht SL 106 Hybrid project, to deliver quiet and emission-free operating. The new compact hybrid propulsion system E-Motion, which can also offer a retrofit solution due to its compact size, was on display for the first time at Boot Dusseldorf.

With dimensions of just 1700 x 700 x 150mm and a weight of only 238kg per module, AKASOL’s compact 25 kWh battery system is a key component to the parallel hybrid drive with its permanent magnet electric motor.

An e-mobility pioneer, AKASOL GmbH has developed and manufactured mobile and stationary high-performance battery systems for the German and European market for 25 years. Since then the company has supplied battery systems powering 1000 electric vehicles. In December 2017 AKASOL opened Europe’s largest production facility for commercial electric vehicle batteries in Langen, Germany. Two of Europe’s leading electric bus manufacturers are AKASOL’s clients.
