California ARB schedules public workshop on Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) proposal; ZEV buses

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) has scheduled its next public workshop to discuss the Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) proposal. (Earlier post.) The ICT proposal aims for transition to zero-emission technologies without compromising transit services and recognizes enhanced mobility options.

The workshop will be held on 13 June at Cal/EPA headquarters in Sacramento.

Achieving California’s long-term goals will require transformative changes in transportation systems and a transition from conventional combustion technologies to zero-emission technology everywhere feasible and near-zero emission powered by low-carbon renewable fuels everywhere else.

Transit buses are one of the first heavy-duty applications in which zero-emission technologies have been demonstrated viable, ARB staff said, and have achieved significant sales volumes, leading and supporting technology development in the heavy-duty sector as a whole.
