Protean Electric announced that ProteanDrive Pd18 has become the first in-wheel motor to pass all three stages of the GB/T18488 certification in China.

The motors were stringently tested at laboratories of the China Automotive Technology Research Center (CATARC) in Tianjin, based on the China National Standard GB/T18488 specifications. Pd18 successfully passed all tests relating to Performance and Function, EMC and Reliability.

Protean is continuing to advance in-wheel motor technology to improve performance and provide eDrive solutions across a broad range of vehicles. Pd16 (designed to fit inside a 16” wheel rim) will be the next model to undergo GB/T certification in the near future.
