BMW Group electrified vehicle sales drop 15% in November y-o-y

BMW brand sales of electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles totaled 2,314 in November 2018, a 25% decrease from the 2,725 sold in the same month a year ago. In total, BMW Group (BMW and MINI) electrified vehicles accounted for 7.7% of US sales in November 2018.

BMW Group currently offers five electrified models in the US, including the BMW i3, BMW i8 and i8 Roadster, BMW 530e, BMW 740e, and MINI Countryman plug-in-hybrid electric vehicle. Plug-in hybrid versions of the all-new BMW X5 and the all-new BMW 3 Series have been announced and will begin sales in the US at a future date.

Overall, sales of BMW brand vehicles increased 1.0 percent in November 2018 for a total of 28,330, compared to 28,049 vehicles sold in November 2017. Year-to-date, the BMW brand is up 1.9 percent on sales of 276,657 vehicles compared to 271,432 sold in the first eleven months of 2017.

PEVs less than 1% of BMW sales.  Even last year's figures amount to less than 1% of sales.

This is not an encouraging trend.
