11 March 2019
ITT Cannon has received formal confirmation from VDE that the fully certified HPC CCS2 connector solution has successfully completed additional testing while operating continuously at 500A with a 4 m cable length and an ambient temperature of 50°C.
The company said that while it has known that the HPC CCS2 could reach 500A, it now has confirmation from a trusted third party they the connector can operate continuously at 500A with a 6 m cable length and an ambient temperature of 40°C.
The updated VDE certificate (Nº 40048340) which references this additional testing can be viewed here.
Good news for upgraded 800 VDC charging facilities. BEVs with 100 kWh batteries will recharge in about 15-30 minutes, if batteries can take it?
