Electrify America installing 36 ultra-fast EV charging stations at Meijer stores in Illinois and Michigan

Electrify America, the largest open DC fast-charging network in the US, is collaborating with Midwestern retailer Meijer to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at nine of its stores across Illinois and Michigan. The stations will offer a total of 36 ultra-fast public EV chargers, increasing the availability of public charging options in the greater Chicago area and throughout the state of Michigan.

The collaboration is part of Electrify America’s commitment to provide convenient and accessible charging experiences for EV drivers. With a station in Bloomingdale, Illinois, already open, the network plans to have all locations available for use by early 2021.

Meijer customers will be able to take advantage of the fastest charging technology available, as Electrify America chargers range in power from 150 kilowatt (kW) to 350kW, depending on the location.
