Lithium Americas has awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) contract for the construction of the Thacker Pass open-pit mining project in Nevada (earlier post) to Bechtel, a firm that has built more than 25,000 projects for industries and governments in 160 countries on all seven continents.

Lithium Americas has all federal and state permits needed to commence construction at Thacker Pass. It anticipates a ruling on the Thacker Pass Record of Decision appeal in early 2023.
