27 January 2023
In his “State of the City” address, New York City mayor Eric Adams announced that Uber and Lyft will be required to have zero-emissions fleets by 2030—more than 100,000 vehicles.
Adams said that there will be no new costs for individual drivers and that both companies are embracing this shift.
Adams also encouraged New Yorkers who drive to make the switch to electric vehicles as well, and will add charging stations in all five boroughs.
