EarthCruiser unveiled the all-electric GMC HUMMER EV EarthCruiser—an overland upfit solution from EarthCruiser. The fully functional GMC HUMMER EV EarthCruiser upfit is making its public debut at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado.

The GMC HUMMER EV EarthCruiser upfit by EarthCruiser features:

• A carbon fiber EarthCruiser house fully integrated into the chassis of the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup.

• Onboard solar power with 605W along with an innovative system of 6 kilowatt hours of 12V lithium battery to provide an estimated seven days of off-grid power, such as the ability to power appliances like a refrigerator/freezer for about a week.

• The freedom to explore any season with EarthCruiser’s insulated tri-layered pop-up roof.

• Amenities include a curated selection of appliances, indoor and outdoor shower, 120V and 12V outlets, purposeful storage and a flat-pack toilet.

• An RV full-size bed to provide a comfortable night’s sleep on all terrains.

• Intuitive, 7-inch-diagonal touchscreen system control panel designed for ease of use.

The GMC HUMMER EV EarthCruiser upfit is expected to be available to GMC HUMMER EV Pickup owners in 2024 through EarthCruiser. Additional product availability details will be released later this year. The EarthCruiser upfit is not covered by the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty and GM is not responsible for independent-supplier alterations.

The 2024 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup—without upfit—starts at $98,845 (2X). The range-topping HUMMER EV Pickup Omega Edition starts at $149,995.

In July, GMC announced the extended driving range for the 2024 GMC HUMMER EV 3X Pickup: GM-estimated 381 miles of range on a full charge on the 3X trim with the available 24-module battery (a 26-mile increase over 2023 model year) and GM-estimated 359 miles of range on a full charge for models equipped with the available Extreme Off-Road Package (a 30-mile increase over the previous model year).

In Q2 2023, GMC reported sales of 47 HUMMER EV Pickups, down 82.7% year-on-year, although a definite increase from the two units sold in Q1 2023. Reservations for HUMMER EV are currently full.

Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum Black Edition. Separately, Ford introduced a new special edition of its electric pickup—F-150 Lightning Platinum Black—designed for customers who want a truck with distinctive looks, power and premium matte black features.

The F-150 Lightning Platinum Black is a monochromatic electric truck, combining the tech and power capability of the high-end Platinum trim level wrapped in a unique matte black wrap—the company’s first matte-wrapped production truck.

Starting MSRP is $97,995; 2,000 will be produced, with deliveries to begin in early 2024.

In Q2 2023, Ford reported sales of 4,466 F-150 Lightnings.
