Aurobay to deliver powertrain solutions to Turkish industrial giant Habaş

Aurobay, a HORSE Powertrain company, signed a significant agreement with the Turkish industrial conglomerate Habaş Sınai ve Tıbbi Gazlar İstihsal Endüstrisi A.Ş. Under the agreement, Aurobay will supply complete powertrain solutions for Habaş’ new passenger cars, with production scheduled to start by the end of 2026.

Aurobay will supply two versions of powertrains: a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder mild-hybrid engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder hybrid engine with dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) to be used in a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV).

The mild hybrid offers a combination of efficiency and performance, while the PHEV focuses on fuel efficiency and the possibility of pure electric operation, meeting the growing demand for environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

Production for these powertrains is scheduled to start during the fourth quarter of 2026.

The agreement with Habaş marks Aurobay’s first major OEM contract outside Europe and China and is an important step in its strategy to expand its product portfolio and reach new markets. This announcement comes after Aurobay joined HORSE Powertrain Limited on 31 May. (Earlier post.)

This is HORSE Powertrain’s first contract as an independent company and reinforces the value of our scale, capabilities and global footprint. The contract will be delivered by Aurobay from our Sweden and China facilities, highlighting our commitment to leveraging our global expertise to deliver state-of-the-art powertrain solutions.
