GM posts record EV sales in Q2 and H1; 3.2% and 3% share, respectively

GM posted record EV deliveries with 38,355 units in the first half of the year, including 21,930 units in the second quarter. This represents a 3% share of total sales for the first half and a 3.2% share for the second quarter.
GM says that retail EV reservations are up 17% year-to-date, outpacing the retail industry’s 10% gain. GM will offer 10 EV nameplates by the end of the year.
Top states for GM EVs are california, Texas, Florida, New York and Michigan.
Overall, GM and its dealers delivered 696,086 vehicles in the US, up 0.6% year-over-year, in the second quarter of 2024 and 1,290,319 vehicles in the US, down 0.4% year-over-year, in the first half of 2024.
