ProLogium and OCSiAl partner to strengthen European supply chains for high-performance batteries

OCSiAl has launched a single wall carbon nanotube dispersion facility in Serbia. This move enhances ProLogium’s European supply chain and supports the mass adoption of electric vehicles via the production of advanced lithium ceramic batteries in France. With an annual capacity of 3,000 MT of nanotube dispersion, OCSiAl’s facility will bolster ProLogium’s gigafactory project in Dunkirk, France, which is expected to be completed by late 2026 and commence mass production in early 2027.

ProLogium specializes in the research, development, and manufacture of lithium ceramic batteries, providing solutions for both consumer and industrial electric vehicle markets. The incorporation of OCSiAl’s single wall carbon nanotubes—nature’s longest and most flexible material for conductivity and reinforcement of electrodes—into the electrode empowers ProLogium’s technology, delivering advanced batteries to meet stringent safety requirements, cost-benefit standards, and battery industry performance objectives for tomorrow’s electric vehicles.

Unlike other carbon-based nanomaterials, single wall carbon nanotubes form robust, long-distance connections between electrode particles, significantly reducing electrode resistance and increasing cell energy density, the partners noted.
