Sakuu and ELEQTRION to advance aluminum-ion battery technology for energy storage and other applications

Sakuu, a provider of commercial-scale equipment and technologies to the battery manufacturing industry, announced a joint development agreement with ELEQTRION, a Québec-based innovator in aluminum-ion battery technology.

By leveraging Sakuu’s Kavian platform and ELEQTRION’s unique battery electrode, the partnership aims to advance the development of aluminum-ion batteries for small to large-scale energy storage solutions and e-mobility applications. The partnership will benefit from Kavian’s cost efficiency and reduced carbon footprint.

Sakuu’s Kavian platform offers flexibility, scalability, and sustainability in battery production, with the ability to manufacture batteries using a variety of chemistries, including aluminum-ion. Aluminum-ion is emerging as a choice in material for batteries, especially for applications in large-scale energy storage, due to its high energy density, safety, and abundance.

The joint development plan agreed between Sakuu and ELEQTRION will explore how these aluminum-ion batteries can be deployed and how they can enhance the efficiency and sustainability for energy storage systems in industrial, residential, and grid-scale applications among other applications.

Sakuu’s dry-process platforms enable rapid innovation while reducing waste and avoiding toxins.
