Donaldson air filter technology to be used in next-gen Freightliner SuperTruck III

Donaldson Company announced that its advanced air filter technology is set to be featured in Daimler Truck North America’s (DTNA) next-generation Freightliner SuperTruck III (earlier post). The SuperTruck program, initiated by the US Department of Energy (DOE), aims to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of heavy-duty Class 8 long-haul trucks.

Since its inception in 2011, the SuperTruck initiative has driven significant advancements, producing multiple demonstrator vehicles from leading manufacturers. While the SuperTruck I and II projects focused on optimizing diesel engines, the latest project involves developing a hydrogen fuel cell truck demonstrator. DTNA has received $26 million from the DOE for this project.

Founded in 1915, Donaldson is a global provider of technology-led filtration products and solutions, serving a broad range of industries and advanced markets. Donaldson has three primary segments: Mobile Solutions, Industrial Solutions and Life Sciences.
