Tesla Cybertruck dominates electric pickup sales in California in 2024

In 2024, Tesla sold 9,411 units of the Cybertruck, far outpacing Ford’s sales of 5,254 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups; 2,817 units of the Rivian R1T; 1,669 units of the Chevrolet Silverado EV; 1,599 units of the HUMMER EV (both SUV and pickup); and 4 units of the GMC Sierra EV according to data from the California Energy Commission.

For the full US (including California), the 2024 sales figures were:

  • Tesla Cybertruck: Approximately 38,965 units

  • Ford F-150 Lightning: 33,510 units

  • GMC Hummer EV (including both truck and SUV): 13,993 units

  • Rivian R1T: 11,085 units

  • Chevrolet Silverado EV: 7,428 units

  • GMC Sierra EV: 1,788 units
