Moscow begins introducing new-generation electric buses to fleet
18 June 2025
Moscow has put 12 new-generation electric buses into service, which will run on two routes: from Savelovsky and Belorussky railway station to the metro station CSKA. These electric buses have a reinforced structure, improved assembly and increased resistance to corrosion, all focused on long and reliable operation in urban conditions.
The uniqueness of the newest model is in the stronger construction, increased assembly technology and corrosion resistance of the body. For the convenience of boarding and disembarkation of passengers, the middle and rear doors now open outward without taking up space in the cabin. The area for wheelchairs and bicycles has become 15% wider, there is more space for hand luggage, the climate system has become even more efficient and the number of electric heaters has increased from 5 to 8.
For drivers, the working space, the number and range of adjustments of the driver’s seat have been increased, and an electronic handbrake has been installed.
A total of 400 such electric buses are expected in Moscow this year.
We continue to launch the most modern and environmentally friendly transportation on city routes on the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. Under the contract with PJSC “KAMAZ” this year it is planned to deliver 400 electric buses of new generation. They are created taking into account the experience of operation of earlier models and feedback from passengers. Moscow’s order for the creation of new vehicles supports employment in the regions and stimulates the development of domestic industry.
